Mary Jean Wendell

Mary Jean Wendell, nee Vynalek, 83, 55 year resident of Prospect Heights passed away Sunday March 13, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jean was the beloved wife of 62 years of Martin P. Wendell; loving mother of John G. (Laura), James P. (Noreen), Christine M. (Walter) Newman, Mary Beth (Raymond) Pettenuzzo, Matthew J. (Kathy), Monica J. (David) Kern and the late Martin P. (Barbara) Wendell Jr.; cherished grandmother of Jeanine (Adam) Boeche, Jesse Wendell, Diana (Erik) McNeill, Marty (Mary) Wendell, Lauren (Patrick) Hackett, Brad (Kristina) Wendell, Jared Wendell, Elizabeth (Rob) Globke, Katelyn Wendell, Scott (Kristen Benne) Wendell, Molly Wendell, Martina Pettenuzzo, Kylie Wendell, Marissa Pettenuzzo, Danielle Kern, Jake Wendell, Anna Newman, Kevin Kern, Rosie Pettenuzzo, Joey Kern, Abby Wendell, Margherite Pettenuzzo, and Josh Kern, great grandmother of Gabrielle, Avery, Joel, Grady, Bennett, Griffin, Connor, Nelson, Jimmy, Brendan, and Eloise; dear sister-in-law of Marguerite Wendell. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She graduated from Notre Dame High School for Girls in 1945 and received an Associates’s Degree from St Theresa College in Winona, MN in 1947. Mary Jean dedicated her life to her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday March 17, 2011 from 3-9 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home 2000 E. Northwest Hwy. Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said Friday March 18, 2011 at 9:15 AM at the funeral home and proceed to St. Alphonsus Liguori Church 411 N. Wheeling Road for funeral mass at 10 AM. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum.
