Marion H. Mycynek, 73 of Des Plaines was born March 2, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to William and Marie (nee Krause) Hartman. She passed away April 18, 2016 after a five month battle with leukemia. Marion was the beloved wife of the late Victor G.; loving mother of Jean (Brad Krepps) Mycynek and Steven (Rima) Mycynek; cherished grandmother of Garrison and Elliot Krepps; dear sister of James (late Leslie) Hartman, Janet Bainbridge, and Ruth (Rudolf) Turner; devoted sister-in-law of Mary Mycynek, and longtime friend of Carol and John Drengenberg. Marion was a registered nurse and worked in a variety of nursing positions, most recently as a school nurse in Mount Prospect School District 57 for over 20 years. Her family and friends will greatly miss the way she shared her boundless enthusiasm for her grandchildren, quilting, travel, and “all things Wisconsin”, including forestry and spending time at Long Lake. Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2016 from 3-9 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights and Saturday, April 23 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School Street, Mt. Prospect from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. Graveside service and interment will be held Monday, April 25 at 11:00 AM at Valhalla Memorial Park in Milwaukee, WI.
