Margaret "Onnie" Smith

Margaret Ann "Onnie" Smith, 64, was born July 30, 1960, to Joseph and Katherine Smith. She died on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Ms. Smith was a letter carrier out of the Arlington Heights Post Office for over 35 years. Besides her dedication to her career, she will be remembered as a strong and independent woman. She was also an animal lover, especially her dogs and cats.

Onnie is survived by her husband, George McDonnell; her step-children, James McDonnell and Christina Ryan; and her many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tom Smith.

Visitation will be from Noon until 5:00 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024 2024 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
