Peggy is survived by her children Patrick (Sharon) McTernen and Maggie Grayczyk; grandchildren Damon, Autumn, Liam, and Sean; step-grandson Tom; siblings Douglas (Ann) Knol and David Knol; nieces and nephews Jason (Dee) Knol, Michael (Eden) Knol, Nicholas (Heta Bhansali) Knol, Molly (Raj Krishnan) Knol, Maximillian (Lexi Dammann) Knol, and Samantha (Bryan) Hoeck; great nieces and nephews Hannah (Levi) Seyen, Leah Hoeck, Joshua Hoeck, Mia Knol, Leena Knol Krishnan, and Anika Knol Krishnan; great-great-niece Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Martha DeLude; and grandson Caden Jack.
Peggy had an infectious laugh that was heard often, especially as she entertained her grandchildren and family. She was a true Star Trek aficionado, who loved classic movies, fiction books and computer games. Her talents and interests included creating stained glass art, scrapbooking and baking. In her career days, she was a pioneer as an early female computer programmer.
Visitation will be held from 1pm-2pm on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home. Graveside committal will follow at St. John Cemetery in Arlington Heights. Memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s name to American Cancer Society or March of Dimes.
