Lillian F. Smith, 97, born September 4, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Catherine (neé Quigley) Henry, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, November 20, 2021, surrounded by loved
ones at the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Lillian was the oldest of seven children, dear sister of Rita (Richard) Partsch, Charles (Diane) Henry and the late Anne (Frank) Bucaro, Thomas (Virginia) Henry, Rosalind (Ray)/Lepacek, and John (Marlene) Henry, and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Lillian worked for more than 40 years in the legal profession, retiring on June 30, 1995, from the nationally known Chicago law firm of Hedlund Hanley & John where she worked for many years with former Chicago Plan Commission Chairman Reuben L. Hedlund.
The family will arrange a Memorial Mass in the Spring to celebrate Lillian’s life.
In lieu of flowers, Lillian requested contributions be made to the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60607.
