Kathleen (Kathy) Freiburger (nee Stark), 80 of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Devoted mother to three, wonderful children, Joseph (Liz) Freiburger, Beth Anne (Lee) Erbach, and Katherine (Michael) Aulenta.
Loving grandmother (Gamma) to eight, handsome grandsons, whom she adored, Bradley Wilson, John Freiburger, Gregory Wilson, Michael Erbach, Matthew Erbach, Joseph (Joey) Freiburger, Thomas (Tommy) Wilson and James (Jimmy) Erbach.She is survived by her brothers and sister in laws, Joseph and Carole Stark and George and Anna Stark, Sue Stark and Nancy Stark, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Freiburger, Sr, her parents, Joseph and Katherine (Louise) Stark, her sister and brother in law, Mary Lou and Roy DeJohn, and her brothers Robert and John (Holly) Stark.Kathy was a faith filled woman, who loved her family, enjoyed her friendships and cherished the lives she touched in her parish professional life.
Kathy joyfully dedicated 41 years to Our Lady of the Wayside as a faithful staff member, first as Religious Education Secretary for 6 years then as Director of Office Services where she faithfully served for 35 years.
In addition to her staff position, Kathy was an active parishioner for more than 50 years, serving many ministries including: Eucharistic Minister, Northwest Community Hospital Eucharistic Minister, Baptismal Ceremony Hospitality, Funeral Vigil Service Ministry, OLW Visitation Chapel Ministry (co-founder), Rite of Christian Initiation Leadership Team, and the Hospitality Coordinator for numerous parish celebrations.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, from 3pm until 8pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, from 10am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11am at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. To continue Kathy’s legacy of stewardship and compassion, her family has requested Memorials to be sent in her honor to Our Lady of the Wayside Parish which will benefit the many ministries she loved and served.
