Josephine Rose Cox

Josephine Rose Cox, 88, of Palatine was born on February 24, 1936, to the late Anthony J. LaRusso and Kathryn nee Hecht and passed away on July 19, 2024 in the comfort of her home with family. Josephine was the beloved wife to the late Lawrence Cox for many years; loving mother to the late Michael Fee, and Linda Fee; dear grandmother to Jessica (Craig) Borgmeyer, Michael Steck, and Kay Steck; fond Gigi to Luke Borgmeyer, Elise Borgmeyer, and EmberRose Miller. Josephine is also survived by her adored daughters-in-love Dawn White, Destynee Phillips, and Natalia Gorecki.

Jo, as most knew her (Josie, if you knew her for a very, very long time), was kind and generous to a fault, and stayed very active until just a few years ago. Always on the go, meeting friends and family for lunches, dinners, plays, and parties. And if not much else was happening, she could usually be found doing one of her most favorite activities – shopping, particularly for shoes! Jo was an accountant for many years at Martin & Martin CPA, and was greatly valued and respected by her coworkers and clients. Jo was a wonderful hostess and loved to entertain and cook enormous amounts of delicious food for everyone and anyone – if there were no leftovers, she would assume someone must have gone hungry! Above all, Jo loved her family beyond measure – her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were showered with love and kindness at every turn. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, family, fur babies, and all those who were blessed to have known her.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the American Stroke Association, or your favorite animal welfare organization.
