Joseph Reed Russell

Joseph Reed Russell was born January 24, 1949 in Chicago to Bernard and Lucille (nee Hindenach) Russell. He passed away on November 2, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from service, Joe pursued a career in sales and marketing. He graduated from DePaul University with Masters Degree in Finance.

Joe was a self taught saxophone and guitar player with a great appreciation for jazz music. He loved to attend the Chicago Jazz Festivals in Grant Park in the summer with family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Mary Ann (nee Schutt) Russell; his children Matthew and Leslie Russell; his sister Louise (Geoffrey) DeTolve and his nephews Peter (Eva) and Phillip (Nickie) DeTolve; his great nephew Morrison DeTolve.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
