John J. Maurer, 85 was born September 9, 1932 in Chicago to Michael and Rose (nee Gerhardt) Maurer and passed away June 21, 2018. John was the beloved husband of the late Cecilia (nee Schmitz); loving father of Kathryn (Glen) Kallhauge and Jean (William) Schenk; cherished grandfather of Kyle Kallhauge, Sarah Schenk, Sandra Schenk and Robert Schenk and dear brother of Michael (Lorie) Maurer. Visitation will be Monday, June 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell Street in Arlington Heights. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
