Joanne Mae McGill

Joanne was the beloved wife of the late Gerald P. “Jerry” McGill for 64 years; loving mother of Gerald P. “Jerry” (Jacalyn) McGill Jr., James (Patricia) McGill, Kathleen McGill and Karen (Timothy) O’Connell; cherished grandmother of Melissa (Peter) Spagnoli, Kimberly (Jacob) Symmonds, Nicole (Matthew) Kahle, James McGill, Rea McGill, Alexandra (Kevin) Barone, Lillian O’Connell and Ryan O’Connell; great-grandmother of Addison, Emily, Madelynn, Caitlin, Chase, Leanne and Kamryn; devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Mae (Langenegger) Scholtus, sister of the late Robert Scholtus, caring aunt and friend to many.

Joanne enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, golfing, cooking, and Facebook. She was a lifelong avid Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan. Joanne was a compassionate animal lover, and also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Joanne that will be held from 4pm - 8pm on Sunday, June 25th, 2023 at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Monday, June 26th, 2023 at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60005 with an additional visitation prior from 10am - 11am at the church.

Graveside committal will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne's memory may be made to: ASPCA - American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
