Of Marshfield, MO
Eric T. Bjork was born on November 25, 1972, in Park Ridge to Paul and Cheryl (nee Thompson) Bjork. He died Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Barrington.
He grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois where he attended Buffalo Grove High School. Eric played baseball, basketball, and golf throughout his youth, and continued his love of the games into adulthood. Eric, lovingly known as “Bekes” to his friends, is described as the most positive, caring, kindest guy you could ever meet. Eric loved all sports, but mainly the Bears, Cubs, and Bulls, and always enjoyed the challenge of engaging in obscure stats discussions with his buddies. Eric’s love of music, especially the oldies, was clear at a very young age, as he could be heard singing his favorite songs all over the house, the car, and just about everywhere else.
Eric moved to Springfield, Missouri in 2006, where he worked for ACGI on the sales team, and later as a regional sales manager at Armstrong World Industries. Eric studied hard to become an expert in identifying wood species and enjoyed helping others learn about the wood products used in various large-scale settings. Eric took great pride in the part he played in many projects around the world, but especially in the construction project at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
He was at home in both Illinois and Missouri where he developed cherished friendships and was loved by all.
Eric is survived by the love of his life, Kerri Ward; father, Paul (Barbara) Bjork and mother, Cheryl Bjork, sister, Kirsten (William) Brown, and brother Brian Bjork; uncles, Gary (Valerie) Thompson, Roger (Diane) Bjork and William Bjork; and many cousins. Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents, Evert & Lillian Bjork and Edward & Bernice Thompson.
