As the loving wife of the late John Richard DiMatteo, Edith's partnership with John was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Their life together was filled with shared dreams and accomplishments, and their love story continued to inspire their family long after John's passing.
Edith's role as a mother was characterized by unwavering support and boundless affection. She was the cherished mother of John (Patricia) DiMatteo, Donna (Dan) Linden, and Robert (Barbara) DiMatteo. Her guidance and wisdom were the cornerstones upon which her children built their lives, and her legacy of kindness and strength remains a guiding light for them.
Her pride as a grandmother knew no bounds. Edith was the adored matriarch to her grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie) DiMatteo, Nick DiMatteo, Christina (Nick) Maestranzi, Daniel (China) Linden, John (Shannon) DiMatteo, and Marc DiMatteo. She relished in their accomplishments and celebrated every milestone with joy and pride. The love she had for her grandchildren was mirrored in the eyes of her great-grandchildren, Sophia Maestranzi, Penelope Maestranzi, and Callen Linden, who will carry the memory of her warmth and love throughout their lives.

Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11am at The Chapel at Addolorata Villa, 555 McHenry Road, Wheeling, IL 60090. Everyone is invited to join the family for refreshments at Addolorata Villa following the Mass. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in Edith’s honor be made to Addolorata Villa.
