Donald Robert Holland was born May 27, 1945 to Arnold and Charlotte (nee Dittmer) in Chicago, IL. He died, Thursday, January 30, 2020 surrounded and uplifted by his loving family.
A devoted husband and father, Don is survived by the love of his life, Teri (nee Butz), with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage this past August; their three daughters, Amy Holland, Jill (Todd) Torok, and Katie Holland; and six grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Ellie, Emily, Andrew, and Charlie.
Don received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northern Illinois University. He went on to serve a respected career in education, first as an instructor in the College of Business at Harper College, and then the Dean of the Business School for the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL.
Don enjoyed many hobbies including stained-glass, tennis, golf, sailing, sketching, gardening, and cards with his CLC friends. More than anything, Don was happiest when spending time with family. He and Teri loved to travel and enjoyed taking trips with their grandkids and friends.
Don is preceded in death by both his parents and siblings; sister Barbara (late Frank) Baron, and brothers James (late Pat), and Gerald.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6th, from 3PM-9PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, located at 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., funeral and interment services will be private.
