Barbara N. Larson

of Palatine

Barbara N. Larson was born December 12, 1942, in Chicago to William L. and Leanore F. (nee Freidman) Nichols. She died Saturday, July 9, 2022 at JourneyCare Hospice at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Barbara was a beloved teacher for over 30 years within in the suburban Chicago school district, as well as St. Emily’s School. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights for over 40 years. In her retirement, Barbara served on the board of Christopher House. Friends remember her for her warm, friendly smile as well as generosity and deep commitment to friendship.

Barbara is survived by her husband Donald W. Larson; her daughter Heather (Bill) Shaw and by her grandchildren Campbell and Ellery Shaw.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Reception will follow service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights.
