Barbara W. DombrowskiOf Mt. ProspectBarbara W. Dombrowski (nee Shenton) a longtime resident of Mt. Prospect and Des Plaines, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015.Barbara was originally from Cheshire, England where she grew up on a farm and went on to serve in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force during WWII. It was in England, where she met and married her late husband, Daniel Dombrowski. She came to the United States, along with her baby daughter, Susan, as a war bride to be reunited with her husband in Chicago.Together they raised five children, Sue (Bill) Springston, Judy (Rick) Penoyer, Beth (Dan) Culhane, Paul (Joe Serio) Dombrowski, and the late Margi Anderson. She is survived by seven grandchildren. Alisa (Chris Lucash) Esposito, Gina (Paul Olson) Esposito, Ryan (Lori) Penoyer, Sara (Jon) Wirtz, Mark (Megan) Anderson, Lauren Culhane and the late Dane Anderson. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren, son-in-Law, Ross (Michelle) Anderson, and her beloved English family, Ann (John) Mitchell, Gary (Christine) Mitchell, Angela (Robin) Dunford, and Paul Mitchell.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington Hts. Funeral Mass 10:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois.
