Ann lived in Canton until 1956 when she graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a teaching certificate. While at Denison she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After moving to Illinois in 1957, she was a member of the Northwest Suburban Alumnae Chapter of AOPi for a number of years.
Following graduation she married the love of her life William B. Borst, Jr. and they celebrated nearly 66 years of life together. They lived in the Northwest suburbs for most of those years along with many retirement winters in Venice, FL. While raising four sons, Ann also worked for 15 years in River Trails School District #26 in Mt. Prospect, retiring in 1990. As a longtime member of Community Presbyterian Church in Mt. Prospect, she sang in the choir and served on the Board of Deacons. More recently she became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights where she was also a member of the Chancel Choir and the Board of Deacons. Ann also enjoyed many worthwhile volunteer years in the Emergency Room at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The happiest and most cherished times in her life were spent with her loving, devoted husband Bill, along with their precious family of four sons and daughters-in-law and 15 adored grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Sharing time with dear friends held a very special place in her heart and she was always “up” for any time to be together – often at the bridge table or perhaps on the golf course.
Ann is survived by her loving husband Bill; her sons Scott (Jan), Jeffrey (Candy), William B. III (Linda) and Mark (Wendy); her grandchildren Sarah (Blake) Gordon, Kevin (Lauren), Brittany (Stephen) Park, Becky (Alex) Piering, Brian, Ben, Erica (Matt) Lynch, Billy IV (Kristin), Nicole, Kyle, Gabrielle, Emmitt, Sophie, Amelia and Eiljah; great-grandchildren Carly, Caleb, Jackson, Noah, Jordan and Claire; sister-in-law Gretchen (Ted) Tetreault and nephew Todd (Celeste) Tetreault.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Street, Arlington Heights.
Interment will be private.
