Alice I. Anderson

Of Arlington Heights

Alice Irene Anderson (nee Moberg) was born February 23, 1931 in Melrose Park, IL to John and Marie (nee Hovland) Moberg. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, IL.

Alice was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ attending the Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church (The Orchard) for 50 years. Alice and Al met as teenagers at the Swedish Covenant Mission Church in Northlake where many lifelong friendships began. Alice enjoyed spending time with friends and family and making them feel welcomed, often with a meal. She was a loyal, trusted friend who could be depended upon.

Alice was a loving mother and always had time for her family. Keeping up with her cherished grandchildren was a great joy in her life. Whether in music, sports, scholastics, missions trips, college, careers or marriage, she was a great supporter, often present at various activities.

Alice was an excellent cook, skilled in sewing, and enjoyed various types of needlework, particularly Norwegian Hardanger embroidery. Relaxation included reading a good book or working a crossword puzzle. Al’s relaxation involved being active so Alice graciously participated in many new sport activities to be together, and make many more friends.

Alice is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years Albin I. Anderson; her children Wayne (Holly) Anderson, Gayle (Kevin) Spacapan and Jim (Sue) Anderson; her grandchildren Dayna (Nate) Hepler, Kristin (Jim) Pasakarnis, Kara (Matt) Zwirkoski, Alex, Arne, Becky and Maggie Anderson; her great grandchildren Britta and Elsie Zwirkoski, and Braden Pasakarnis.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Edwin (late Hope) Moberg, Gerda (late Bill) Born, Bergit (late Lee) Carlson, John (Ruth) Moberg and Myrna (late Bruce) Raney.

Visitation for Alice will be Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Monday, June 6, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 10:00 AM at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights. Interment will take place that afternoon at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, 520 E. Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to, The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N Douglas Ave, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
