Roxie worked at Oakdale Cotton Mill as a machine operator for most of her adult life. She retired in the year 2000 after working there for 40 years. Roxie enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She would plant all types of flowers and loved seeing each of them bloom in the spring. Her favorite flower was the yellow rose. Roxie enjoyed taking care of people. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In the last few years, Roxie had taken up adult coloring with colored pencils, markers and paint. She would spend hours working on some pieces. Even with crippling arthritis in both hands and her fingers, she created and painted some of her best masterpieces. Roxie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
