A resident of this area all of her life, Karen was born on March 29, 1961 in Guilford County to Lawrence Williamson Jr. and Freida Clement Williamson. On July 15, 1980, she married Dennis Lyons, who survives of the home. She had worked in retail sales at Burlington Coat Factory for a number of years. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter and she loved her family dearly. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Zachery Lyons.
Surviving is her husband, Dennis Lyons of Randleman; her son, Christopher Lyons and his wife Lori of Randleman; and her grandson, Alexander Lyons. Also surviving is her sister, Janet Gray and her husband Russell of Sophia; and her brothers, Lawrence Williamson III and his wife Judy of New London, Barry Williamson and his wife Rosemary of Thomasville, and Ronald Williamson and his wife Donna of Stoney Creek.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at 11 am Tuesday, September 10th in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale with the Rev. Bill V. Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday, September 9th at the funeral home and other times at the home of her mother, 3733 Rhonda Drive in Trinity.
