John Martin Sutton

John Martin Sutton departed this world on February 6, 2025. John was born in the summer of 1948 to the late Edward and Leonora Wall Sutton. He was one of six siblings, including three brothers (Edward, Victor, and Douglas) and two sisters (Marty and Nora), who grew up in Rockingham County, NC.

John was a member of the United States Marine Corps, who proudly served his country. He was a devoted family man and Freemason, passionate about animals and nature, and a true Educator at heart. He shared his love for building things by teaching others his craft (General Contracting) for decades.

John is survived by his wife, Kathy, his son Matt, his daughter, Laura and her husband, John, and grandchildren Mary Kate and Sutton. We miss his dry wit, stoic manner, and deeply loving heart.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 15, 2025, Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Military Honors will be provided by Randolph County Honor Guard.
