Jerry was born in High Point on July 30, 1941 a son to James and Iris Thompson Whittington. On March 11, 1958 he married the love of his life, Linda Hanes Pugh Whittington. He was a resident of High Point all of his life. He worked at Alderman Studio as an editor and he retired in 2000 from Carolina Atlantic Studio as a film editor and technical manager.
He was of the Baptist faith and he loved his family most of all. He enjoyed gardening, his occupation as a film editor and watching western movies.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Iris Thompson Whittington and his sister June Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Whittington of the home; daughter, Sherry Williams of Winston Salem and a son, Derek Whittington of High Point. Two grandchildren, Brittany and Bridgett; two great-grandchildren, Kiley and Mahleya and a brother, Jinks Whittington.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 4 pm in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale.
