Joanne aka "The Paper Lady" was a wonderful and strong lady. She fought lung cancer for three years with her daughter right by her side every day of it. Joanne loved Jehova and the truth. She enjoyed hummingbirds, listening to country music, and the beauty of flowers.
In 1993 she went to work for the Times Standard and worked for 18 years delivering the paper on the Hoopa reservation. While she did this job 7 days a week, she also went to work for the K.T.J.U.S.D. as a bus driver and special education teacher in 1991. She retired in 2005.
Joanne was a beautiful lady and is going to be missed dearly by many.
Preceded in death by her dad Robert Gardner McInerney; mom Regina McInerney; brothers William, Daniel and Bob. Auntie Henrietta and husband Andrew Lewis II. Grandparents: Bonita and Henry Masten. Cousins: Debra Super, John Lewis. She is survived by her two children Timothy Robert Ulrich Sr and Maria Jean Ulrich. Dorothy Ulrich. Sister Pat and James Thigpen, Grand children Timothy Jr., Clifford and Shane Ulrich. Great Grandchildren; Shane Jr, Evelyn, Clearance, Thomas Ulrich. Great nieces and nephews: Emerald, Vi, Charlie McInerney. Nephews and Nieces; Jeremy and Daniel McInerney; Leroy, Tony, Gena, Laurie Halbe, Juna Thigpen. Cousins; Janice Billings, David "Hootie" and Andrew III Lewis, Bobby McInerney Jr.
Graveside services will be held at the McInerney Family Cemetery, Weitchpec, CA on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 2:00pm.
A reception will follow at the Yurok Tribal Office in Weitchpec, CA.
