Louis Phillip Sylvester

Louis (Lou) Phillip Sylvester was born in Perth Amboy, NJ to parents Louis Phillip Sr. and Dorothy Matilda Sylvester. He lived in San Bernardino County for 49 years, the past 16 years living in Apple Valley, CA.

Lou served honorably in the United States Air Force where he was deployed to North Africa during the Korean War. After his time in the military, he worked in the Telecommunication industry until he retired in 1987. Lou volunteered for 19 years with Citizens Patrol of San Bernardino County Sheriff working in Chino Hills and Apple Valley. In his younger days Lou was active in gun club competitions, winning awards such as Marksman Top Shooter. Lou also enjoyed bowling and traveling within the United States. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time in Laughlin with his wife.

Lou is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of Apple Valley. Daughters Teresa Dimmitt (Doug) of Hesperia, and Jean Sabin (Mike) of Victorville. Grandchildren Steven Dimmitt, Robyn Dimmitt-Ness, and Taylor Sabin. Great-grandchildren Aubrey Dimmitt, McKenzie Ness, and Gavin Lightfeldt.

Services are being held at Sunset Hills Mortuary in Apple Valley on Monday September 26, 2016 starting at 11:00AM
