It is with profound sadness that our family announces our beloved husband, father and
grandpa, David A. Boucher, 65, passed away April 28, 2023 at Providence St. Mary’s
Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Leominster, Massachusetts, May 24,1957.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Robert T. Boucher and Lucille Morissette
Boucher and siblings Sheila Boucher Alaimo and James L. Boucher. He is survived by
his wife of 48 years, Norma Jean Haley Boucher of Apple Valley, CA. Sons, Aaron
Boucher and KC Boucher and his wife Amy of Helendale, CA, Daughters, Jessica
Boucher of San Clemente, CA and Jaimee Boucher of Apple Valley, CA. He loved being
a grandpa to Logan Boucher, Dylan Boucher and Kayden Boucher Allen. Dave is also
survived by his brother Stephen W. Boucher of Midway, AR, Sister-in Law Judith Haley
Wilkins of Salem, MA, Brothers-in-law Shaun Haley his wife Eileen of Costa Mesa CA,
Tom Haley his wife Lois of Fitchburg MA, Aunts Lucille, Ginger, Sue, Uncles Bob and
Richard and many cousins in Massachusetts, nieces: Rosie, Chrystal, Tristan, Haley,
nephews: John, Joey, Kevin and Brent.
Dave grew up in Leominster, MA and Arcadia CA. He played football and practiced
Martial Arts. He also loved going on vacation with the whole family to the River, the
Lake or the Beach. He wanted to travel since he was newly retired. He wanted to go
back to Portugal, Japan and Spain. He just returned from an Alaskan Cruise in
September. 2022.
After attending Leominster High School, he attended Peterson School of Engineering to
become a Steam Engineer like his Father. He worked at Simonds Saw and Steel,
Bates Corrugated Box and Star Container in Massachusetts as a 2nd Class Fireman
and 3rd Class Engineer.
In California, he worked as a boiler room operator at General Dynamics and Miller
Brewing Co.In 1985 Dave became a Pioneer and Control Room Operator at the Segs
(Solar Electric Generation Systems) Plants in Daggett, CA He was one of the original “
LUZers”. He then went on to work and manage each of the newly constructed CSP
(Concentrated Solar Power) Plants in Spain, the Mojave Desert including Kramer
Junction, Harper Lake and Boulder City, Nevada. He worked for LUZ, FPL, Brown and
Root, Solargenics, Acciona, Abengoa and Atlantica. Dave retired in 2021 and acted as
a consultant from home until Feb. 2022. He was well respected in his field and made
lifelong friends in the Solar Industry.
