Bert will be laid to rest in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley, California 92308.

Bert R. Smith Jr. of Victorville passed away to be with our Lord on June 10, 2023. He was born November 19, 1937 in St. Joseph, MO where he spent his childhood until he joined the Air Force in 1955. He met his wife of 62 years in Burlington, VT where they married in 1956. Together they raised four children while serving his country in numerous locations throughout the U.S., as well as Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, and Vietnam. They chose to stay in Apple Valley and Victorville at the end of his 23-year career in the Air Force.

Bert loved Jesus, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as hunting, fishing, and cars. His spirit lives on in his sons, Russ and wife Diana (Texas), William and wife Teresa (Tennessee), Dale and wife Inmi (Utah), and his daughter Melissa Fenn and husband Martin (Apple Valley). He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Barbara Alice (1936–2019) and succeeded in life by all four of his children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley, CA 92307 on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.
