Tyrone immigrated to the United States in July 1972. He worked for the New York City Transit Authority until he retired in December 2011.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his mother Elsa in 1993, his father Terence in 2000, and his brother Curtis in 2020.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan; son Kino; daughters Jasmine Mondesir and Amara Mondesir Kennedy; son-in-law Nkosi Kennedy; granddaughter Cherise; grandsons Christian, Nikolas and Ethan.
Tyrone also leaves behind his brothers Nicholas, Ezra, Neil, Isaac (“Skip”), and Gary, his sisters Doreen, Marlene, Ingrid, Myrna, and Glinis, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
