Ronald Philip Hetu, a beloved husband, father and grandfather (pawpaw), passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born on March 10, 1947 in Southbridge, Massachusetts but has called Apopka, Florida home for most of his adult life. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He was a kind, gentle and loving man.
He was a devoted husband to Shirley A. (Cannon) Hetu for 57 years; a loving father to Michelle L. (Hetu) Crume and Philip S. Hetu; as well as an admiring grandfather (Pawpaw) to Austin Hetu. In addition, he leaves behind his sister, Debbie (Hetu) Wessell and niece, Dara (Wessell) Holcomb of Connecticut. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Roland G. Hetu, and his mother, Ernestine (Fauteux) Hetu.
Those that knew Ron will remember his love of reading, history and golf. They will also remember his warm, kind, loving yet quiet personality. He always tried to stay out of the drama but still let everyone know he cared about them.
A visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 601 N. Park Ave., Apopka, FL 32712 with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A committal service will occur on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at Edgewood-Greenwood Cemetery, 141 Edgewood St., Apopka, FL 32703.
