Hyacinth May Williams was born July 7th, 1934, in the Parish of Manchester, Jamaica. She was the fourth of six children born to Max and Catherine Williams.
After completing her academic pursuits, Hyacinth met “the love of her life,” George Tackore. They married in 1960 and had five children.
In 1969, Hyacinth migrated to the United States with her husband. Her children joined them shortly.
Over the ensuing years, Hyacinth earned certificates in electroencephalogram and echocardiogram. She worked as a technician until she was promoted to supervisor of her department. Hyacinth's compassion, love, and leadership skills earned her very high praise and respect from those around her.
Hyacinth was also known as “Cousie” by her close friends. She had excellent cooking skills; she cooked traditional Jamaican dishes to share with her staff and friends. In her waning years, one could not visit her home without leaving with a “full belly” and a packed meal to take home.
Hyacinth was a faithful member of The Church of the Holy Spirit. On Tuesday, November 3rd, 2024, at the age of 90, she received her heavenly blessing, and she was sent to Glory to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her lifelong partner, George Tackore.
