She was born in Samson, Alabama on May 24, 1936.
Darthey was a homemaker.
She became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Apopka in the late 80s. She enjoyed her church family very much, and looked forward to spending the Sabbath with them and eating potluck.
Darthey, her husband Frank, and daughter, Debra, had a good time being involved together in the Pathfinders and camping. She volunteered at the Seventh Day Adventist church thrift store; liked to read; and, enjoyed going the park to relax, feed and talk to the squirrels. She loved to talk on the phone for hours and hours to her siblings and friends, even if it meant eating late. She loved the snow, and enjoyed traveling over the holidays to spend time with her family. At home, she loved to shop for hours, looking at everything from clothing to clocks. She relished eating at Sweet Tomatoes, often visited the Bok Tower Gardens, and Leu Gardens especially on Mothers' Day. Darthey loved receiving flowers.
She will be dearly missed.
Darthey is survived by her daughter Debra Moorefield, son-in-law David Moorefield, sister Sue Elmore, grandchildren: Shellie, Shawn, Michael, Tammie, Chasity, and Deborah; and by her 11 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
