William was born April 18, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Phineas Ware and Eleanor Marsh Ware. He was a graduate of Rowan University and was employed by the Gloucester City, New Jersey School System as the Cooperative Industrial Education Coordinator. William was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus and served faithfully within the Catholic communities where he resided. In retirement, he enjoyed ballroom dancing and fishing the fresh waters of Kerr Lake, always in pursuit of the largest bass.
William was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Mary Candice Steinruck Ware; and brother, John Ware.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ware Nolan and her husband, Daniel; two brothers, Robert Ware and his wife, Sharon; David Ware and his wife, Kathy; sister-in-law, Karen Ware; and brother-in-law James Steinruck; grandson, Beckett Nolan; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. Burial and military honors will follow the service at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601. The family will receive friends 10am-11am prior to the service at the funeral home.
