Virginia Mary Avery

Virginia was born August 3, 1929 in Kingston, NY to the late Kenneth and Ann Hornbeck. Early in her career, she was employed with IBM and later stayed home to care for her family. Virginia was a member of Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Fuquay-Varina. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Avery, brother, Ken Hornbeck and sister, Betty Weishaup.

She is survived by her three sons, Leonard Avery (Cindy), Dan Avery (Luis Davila) and Thomas Avery (Kim); brother, Robert Hornbeck; three grandchildren, Kristin Franks (Mark), Bryan Avery and Adyson Avery; and three great grandchildren, Megan Howell, Anna Howell and Kathryn Howell.

A Funeral Service will be held 11am Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502. Burial will follow the service at Apex Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-11am prior to the service at the funeral home.
