Richard Laurell Swan

Richard was born on February 18, 1947 in Carthage, NY to the late, Laurell and Dorothy Swan. As a family man, he was the perfect role model for his children and grandchildren. He was married to Dawn Swan for over 53 years before she passed away on April 10, 2020. Richard retired as plant manager in the agriculture industry and has spent the past 20 years in North Carolina enjoying his time well spent with those he loved.

He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Kevin Swan (Paige), Jeffrey Swan (Melissa) and Joseph Swan; grandchildren, Ethan, Carly, Nolan, Caitlin, Tyler, Drew, Mia, B, Alexandra and Cole; brother, David Swan (Barbara); sister, Carol Swan; and nieces, Ashley and Amber.

Family will gather and receive friends and guests on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery next to his wife on May 10, 2024.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be donated to Duke Cancer Center.
