Raymond was born May 23, 1935 to the late Raymond Joseph Faivre and Lillian Matous Faivre both deceased.
He was a graduate of Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Raymond joined IBM in 1956 in Owego, NY, he also worked in Manassas, VA and Gaithersburg, MD and retired in Cary with over 35 years of service.
He was responsible for the electrical development of Navy Avionics computers to support submarine sonar systems with the Federal Systems Division. He was also the Functional Manager for development of submarine combat control systems with over 110 engineers in his organization. He had the opportunity to live in Australia where he worked on Health System Development and Banking Systems for ANZ.
He was a member of Hope Community Church in Raleigh where he truly found Christ and was a member of a small group of cherished friends.
Ray had numerous hobbies but mostly enjoyed engine repair, restoring antique furniture and woodworking.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Helen White Faivre.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Dianne Dodrill Faivre; and four children from his previous marriage, Steven Faivre and wife, Wanda; Michelle Brearley and husband, Bob; Lisa Britton and husband, Paul; and Douglas Faivre and wife, Maria; 4 grandchildren, Cosette and Jesse Faivre; Jared Faivre; and Ashley Parades.
A memorial service will be held 11am Friday, February 27, 2015 at Hope Community Church in the upstairs Chapel, 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. Interment will follow the service at Apex Cemetery.
