He is survived by his sister, Sharon (Walter) Mazurkiewicz; his six children: Jerry "Allen" Wilkins, Jr (Connie), Peggy Liles, Pamela Ingalls (Preston), Christine Tucker Smith, William "Scott" Wilkins and Bryan Berger; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and closest friends whom he called Brothers: Rabbi John Adkins, Bill Borden and Cang Huynh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Othella Berger; granddaughter, Jennifer Pope, and former wife, Audrey Berger.
Ralph attended R.U.C.E. High School in Reddick, IL and Kishwaukee Community College in Malta, IL. He received a double degree from Zakkah University in Messianic Apologetics and Ancient Jewish Studies. He was also an adjunct professor at Zakkah. He was devoted to teaching and guiding others in many areas of life but especially in the Word of God. Ralph was also an integral part in writing the parasha for the Beth Hashem newsletter. (He was an elder of the Beth Hashem congregation.)
Ralph Berger served in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician maintaining shipboard radio communications equipment. He continued his career in telecommunications with Illinois Bell Telephone and Contel Telephone Co. in Illinois. In 1983, he found his niche as a Senior Technical Instructor with Nortel Networks, Inc. and later as a contract technical instructor and advisor.
He also enjoyed baking many kinds of breads, rolls and more for friends, family and acquaintances. He was a beloved "Brother" to many that are left with a cavernous hole in their heart as are his family.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful co-workers, friends and loved ones for their prayers, condolences, love and support.We would also like to thank the amazing staff at WakeMed Garner Emergency Department and WakeMed Raleigh Heart Center, 2E ICU and 3E Units for their expertise and compassion in the tender care of our precious father.
Graveside Services, officiated by Rabbi John Atkins, will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at Apex Cemetery. Military Honors will be rendered by the US Navy.
