Patsy Ann Rowe Bundy, 87, of Cary, NC passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Patsy was born on June 22, 1935 in Aurora, North Carolina to the late John Small Rowe and Myrtle Warren Rowe. She was the youngest of 7 children. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1953 and was a member of many extracurricular activities, including the basketball team. Patsy attended East Carolina College ( ECU) and earned an associates degree in business. She then moved to Virginia Beach, VA where she met Bruce Adelbert Bundy. He was a pilot in the Navy and had a pink thunderbird convertible. She fell in love with him AND his car. They wed in 1960 and moved to New Jersey, eventually settling in Short Hills, her home for the next 58 years. She began working as a secretary for King World Productions in 1980 and eventually retired as Vice President of Contract Administration from the then merged CBS Television Distribution / King World Production. In 2018, Patsy resettled in Cary, NC, to be closer to her family.
Patsy was known to friends and family for her generosity and warmth. She had a unique ability to connect with others and make everyone feel important. In her community, she was a patron of the arts; a great enthusiast of local theater productions. She enjoyed going to Broadway musicals and was a season pass ticket holder at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Patsy was very proud of her small town roots and she told anyone she met she was a tarheel born and a tarheel bred. She was a true Carolina Girl who loved NC BBQ with slaw and fried okra. Patsy enjoyed the Jersey Shore and Topsail Island, NC, diet Dr Pepper, listening to Frank Sinatra and reading all types of books. But what she loved most, even more than BBQ, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Bailey, Wesley and William, and beloved “granddog” Brody.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Bundy Ewing and three grandchildren, Bailey, Wesley and William Ewing, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings.
