Michael Eugene Johnson

Michael was born in Erwin, North Carolina in 1953. The beloved older brother of four children, he attended high school in Shelton, Washington. Mike lived a life full of adventures.

In 1986, Michael enrolled in Eastern Carolina University, where he studied Construction Management. He graduated with honors in 1990, and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Michael was honored with the Outstanding Senior Award in Construction Management. It was during this time that Michael met the lovely Patti Tidwell, and they were married in 1996.

Michael enjoyed a successful career as a homebuilder.

Michael is survived by his loving bride, Patti, children Julie Ann Murphy and husband Leroy, Alethea Robertson, Joel Robertson and wife Lora, and two wonderful grandchildren.

Michael leaves behind his beloved mother, Maggie Davis, her husband George, his aunt, Nina Gray, dearest sister Jonnie Stockwell, her husband David, nephew Dean Michael and devoted brother Lee Davis, wife Heather, niece Lexa and nephew Caleb.

A memorial will take place on Tuesday, November 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams Street. Friends and family are invited to join them in celebrating a Life Well Lived.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.
