He was born to parents Daniel Collum and Kathie Bailey on August 13th, 1970 in Burlington, Iowa. He is survived by siblings Todd Collum, wife Jacie Collum, Daniel Collum and Megan Collum. He attended Marshalltown High School followed by a football scholarship to Iowa Lakes Community College and Morningside College. He then enlisted in the US Army 82nd airborne in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Phoenix and his masters degree in Business Administration at Saint Leo University. He pursued his career in IT project management.
He married Renee Collum, the love of his life, in 1993, who survives him. Together they had 4 children, Cassaundra Renee, 23, Bailey Michael, 20, Dean Owen, 15, and Jax Alexander, 11.
Michael loved sports, fitness, coaching his kids, the Steelers, the Cardinals,camping, being outdoors, woodworking, 80s music, grilling, vacationing, the beach and his faith. Of all the great things Michael did, his greatest accomplishment was being a dad and husband, his 4 children were his pride and joy.
