Mary Magdalene Ray Sanderford

Magdalene went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2012 at the age of 93. She was born in Wake County, NC to the late Henry and Blanche Ray. She was the devoted mother of seven children, who will miss her every day for the rest of their lives. Magdalene was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Sanderford; infant daughter, Betty Jo Sanderford; and siblings, Julia Ford, Dorothy King and Darrel Ray.

She is survived by children (all of NC) Charles Sanderford (Barbara) of Moncure, Ann Williams (Tommy deceased) of Cary, Patsy Yates of Apex, Mary Lou Duke (Linwood) of Fuquay Varina, Billy Sanderford (Barbara) of Spring Hope, Bobby Sanderford (Judy) of Apex, Joel Sanderford, Jr. (Helen) of Oxford; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 5, 2012 in Apex Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
