Rob and I had two moms growing up and Mrs. Elder was my second. Thank God. Who knows what trouble we would have gotten in if we hadn't had backups for our easily distracted moral compasses!

She did one hell of a job on two boys after having raised two daughters (and eventually a third). She was always tolerant of our immaturity and patient with our antics; but she always left us knowing what the right decision would be - even if we didn't necessarily listen. I always felt like I was living in Hillsdale, but being raised in the old-school Brooklyn fashion from which our two moms had come. 

Any success I've had as a parent is in part due to the lessons learned on Raymond Street, which never would have happened if not for a chance-meeting by two Brooklyn girls in a Bergen County Sears Store.

I have such great memories of Mary Ann, and will never forget the amazing bridal shower that she hosted for me in 2002  in her lovely home, which she extended to all my friends and family.. Trish was my best friend and Bob and Mary Anne treated me like their own. I remember taking leftovers home and she wouldn’t even let me pack it up in plastic. She told me to take it in the stone bakeware pan, and bring it back. I forgot to bring it back, and she never asked. But after all those years, I still have it. And I’m glad I still do. I have cherished it through the years, and always remember how thoughtful she was in all of her kindness, her strong faith, and all the beautiful children she raised. Bob and her were such a loving couple. My heart mourns for your loss. It is a loss to so many. I remember her laugh and her amazing love for all her beautiful grandkids. Tricia, Jen, Rob, and Kathleen and family, I love all of you and you all are so amazing because of your mom and dad. My parents were also saddened to hear. They always  loved your mom (and dad). Bob, God will ease your pain during this difficult time, and my utmost prayer is that we all live like Mary Ann, and take care of eachother. She was the best nurse ever. Thank you God for her life. Heaven is so lucky to have you now. One day we will see you again, in all your glory. May God bless the entire Elder family. I love you and miss all of you  dearly. My prayers are with you.

Dear Bob, Jennifer, Rob, Meghan, Ryan, Sean, Kathleen and family, Rob and family Trish and family, and friends. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We have you in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this very difficult time in your lives, and send you all of our love. May God keep his hands on you and give you the strength to continue to move forward and overcome your loss. Take solace in knowing that your wife, your mother, your grandmother is in a much better place now and pain free. She is now a guardian angel for the whole family and sits on your shoulder.
