Mary McPherson Creighton

Mary was native to Memphis, TN on August 19, 1948 to the late George and Louise (Davis) McPherson.

Mary attended the University of Alabama, studying Mathematics and English. While at the University of Alabama, Mary met the love of her life, Donald "Gene" Creighton. They later married on October 5, 1968 in Memphis, TN.

Mary and Gene moved to North Carolina in July 1983 where they raised their 4 children, Ginny, John, Steve and Elizabeth. Mary's pride and joy was raising her children and being home with them.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, George McPherson; her mother, Louise (Davis) McPherson; her brother, Robert McPherson and her son, John Creighton.

Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donald "Gene" Creighton; her daughters, Ginny Creighton, Elizabeth Fitchner (David); her son, Steve Creighton; her sister, Ann Anglin and her brother, Dave McPherson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex, NC 27502. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00am at Apex Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Markham Memorial Gardens, 4826 Trenton Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27517.

All attendees of Mary's services, must wear a mask at all times and social distancing is kindly requested.
