Maura, as she was known to all, was the devoted wife of Andrew (Andy) Weisenberger for 60 years, until his death on December 11, 2013. She was an awesome mother to her four children: Philomena (Sidney) Harrell, Andrew (Jill) Weisenberger, Timothy (Kim) Weisenberger and Emmett (Suzanne) Weisenberger. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, whom she loved: Vincent, Regina, Erin, Emily, Theresa, TJ, Michelle, Kathryn and Matthew. She also has four great-grandchildren: Finley, Eloise, Noah and Connor.
Born in Cork, Ireland in 1928, Maura immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 with her sister, Colleen. Her parents, Timothy and Catherine Buckley, and her other siblings Cornelius, Bartholomew, Veronica, Emmett and Phyllis, joined her in the following years. They all resided in Washington D.C., where Maura met Andy. After raising their children, Maura and Andy travelled extensively to Ireland and throughout the United States.
Maura was proficient at Irish dancing and enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors. She also worked with ceramics and her children have been happy recipients of her multiple Santa Claus and religious themed works! Maura’s love for Andy and their children was unlimited.
A sincere Irish Catholic, Maura loved God and the Blessed Mary and we rest assured knowing that she is safely with them.
