She was born the daughter of Bailey and Cleve Williams on August 16, 1928. She was a native of Fuquay Varina, a graduate of Peace College, and the wife of B.J. Fish, her High School sweetheart, whom she loved dearly and was married to for over 56 years. In their early years of marriage, they enjoyed golf and horseback riding together. They lived a joyful life raising seven children and serving their community through Elmo’s Clothing and local organizations to include Christian Women’s Club where Margaret’s service to The Lord began to take shape. During that time, she also taught Sunday School and held a teenage Bible Study in the basement of their home often after High School football games where many students accepted Christ. Then after a time of preparation followed by several years in BSF and God’s leading, the Bible Study in Fuquay she was so faithfully committed to for over thirty-three years was launched. Her life’s work encaptured the humble representation of a servant’s heart and the unwavering devotion to the study and sharing of God’s Word.
She loved history and the study of current events, always cherished her time with her children and grandchildren, and adored family get togethers and birthdays. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son, Stephen Barrett Fish; her brother, Carter Williams; and her sisters, Mary Lois Batista and Hazel Pucket. Surviving are three sons, Cliff Fish, Barney Fish and wife Kelley, and Andrew J. Fish of Fuquay-Varina; three daughters, Nan Caison and husband Hugh of Wilmington, Catherine Cutler and husband David of Florida and Caroline Fish of Pinehurst. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
