I worked on the same project with Ken at Sensus. He truly valued each person's contribution. His steady leadership example is greatly missed. Sincere sympathies to Ken's family. I will keep you in my prayers.

I remember the times Dan & Kenny and I were  fishing in our boat in Miami, we got into a school of Dolphin,  and the boys  really got excited with fish, jumping over our heads,   landing in the boat with hooks and fish, what a scramble,  he was a fine young man,  it's a sad thing to loose him at so young of age,  please pass along our fond  memories.

I knew Ken for many years while working at Cisco Systems.  Ken and I would often bump into each other in the cafe, both of us hurrying down to get a to-go lunch as we raced off to our next meetings.  Although late for his next meeting, he'd wait patiently for me at the end of the check-out line so we could walk to back together and swap a few stories.  We only had 2 minutes, but in that 2 minutes we'd solve each other's problems, give each other new ideas, new directions, often making that time the best 2 minutes of my day.

My career has intersected with Ken numerous times across different organizations and companies over the years.  Our conversations always went well past work and into discussions of family and church.  We shared many of the same concerns and challenges as fathers trying to prepare our children for their futures.  Ken was a real blessing in helping allay my concerns and letting me know the choices being made would be ok.  While I pray for the comfort of this family, I know that their father has well prepared them for their future and will be looking down with pride.

Kenny was loved by us all.  He hardly missed an annual visit to Miami and also did not miss an opportunity to spend some time with my family, brothers and me.  
He was a lifetime friend, especially to my brother, Tony.  I will never forget the bond and friendship they shared throughout many years.  From his actions and his words,  Kenny was an admirable individual. He was kindhearted, a loyal friend, faithful Christian and we always knew how proud he was of his wife and daughters. I got to know Ken for over 10 years and have worked in 3 companies under his leadership (Cisco, Extreme, Sensus).  It is still so shocking to me and unacceptable to hear that he has left us in such a young age!  Ken was such a great leader with wise vision, superior execution skills and strong technical background.  And he always treated people with honest, candidacy and fair.  He was such a unique boss with great integrity and charming personality.  That’s why many people would like to follow him wherever he went.  I cherish the years that worked under his leadership. Dear Tammie, Melanie, and Lea, please accept my most sincere condolences.

I worked with Ken at Cisco, Extreme, and Xylem.   He was a leader,  friend, and family man.  He had a knack for recruiting the best engineers, mentoring, supporting, trusting, and empowering them to produce the best products.  He was honest, respectful, kind, and showered us with tough love when needed. He was the best manager I have ever had and a dedicated engineering leader.  

Over the years, we shared many ups and downs at work and developed a wonderful friendship.  Often, I reached out to him for advice. My two daughters and his daughters are in the same age group.  We often talked about family.  He loved his family, and they were his anchor.

Last month, I had a long conversation with Ken.  We talked about my latest job search, kids, his retirement plans, and Melanie’s Ph.D. program. We talked about working together on a future project.   I thanked him for the opportunities, accomplishments, and camaraderie, not realizing that those would be my parting words with Ken.  

Two weeks ago, when I texted him, his last reply was, “I’m in the ICU.”  I comforted him and thought he would overcome his pneumonia and walk out of the hospital. I’m saddened by the sudden turn of events and the loss of a trusted friend.    I’ll miss you, Ken.

May God rest Ken’s soul in eternal peace.


My sincere condolences to Tammie, Melanie and Lea.  

Ken and family have been part of my family memories the past 10 years.  With Lea and Melanie going to St Mary Magdalene and Cardinal Gibbons with my daughters, we shared times at Daddy/Daughter dances,  in a Y Guides tribe with Lea where we made countless trips to Camps Seagull and Rockmont, marching in the Apex Christmas parade, STMM Science Olympiad, Cardinal Gibbons football games, etc.  He was an important part of those memories for me.

I love all the pictures that have been posted here.  It's obvious that the most important thing to Ken has always been family.  He had such pride in Lea and Melanie, and his influence will live on in them.    Ken would always talk about how well Melanie was doing in school at Gibbons then App State, and how much Lea had been growing as a person and learning new things.

Ken was a good friend as I always found him interesting, intelligent, and someone who I could always talk to.  My family and I will miss him terribly and are so sorry he is no longer with us, but most importantly sorry that Tammie, Melanie, Lea and his extended family have to endure such a loss.

My most sincere condolences to the Lambert Family. I spent nine years with Ken at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School where I remembered him as intelligent, athletic and an all around nice guy...who was always just a whisper faster than I was in our 50 yard dash competitions. After decades, it was a pleasure to reconnect with him on Facebook where we expressed our mutual support for the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. He clearly loved his faith, family and adored his daughters. May the peace that comes from loving memories comfort Ken’s family now and always.

Ken and I worked closely together on many projects at Cisco Systems, especially in the 1990s and 2000s.

He was always thoughtful, brilliant, and inspirational in how he pulled other engineers together to achieve outstanding results in challenging timeframes.

I will always think of Ken as the quintessential engineer; and am saddened to hear of his life being so prematurely ended.

Blessings to his family : may they find strength and remember how fortunate that they are to have known Ken so well.

My deepest condolences to the Lambert family. Ken and I worked together at Cisco from 2007 to 2013. He was not only a great manager and visionary, but also a caring human being. When my special needs son, Scott, started having medical issues Ken told me not to worry about work and focus on Scott. I will never forget that conversation - we both had tears in our eyes. Ken stood up and walked around his desk and hugged me. Said everything will be ok. Such a loving and caring man! John 3:16

Though we had known Ken for just a few years, we shared in many  happy times with your family to celebrate holidays and birthdays on White Sands Drive. Dear Tammie, Melanie, Lea and the rest of the Lambert family, There are no words to express how sad we were to learn of Ken's passing.  We have wonderful memories of tailgating at the Gibbons football games together.  We had so many great conversations and a lot of laughter.  And of course the music!  Ken's love of music, especially watching Melanie preform is something we will always cherish.  Know that we are keeping you all in our prayers and sending love to you all.

I convinced Ken to join Cisco and then worked with him over the next 14 years.  We were all very lucky to have him in our lives.  

He was a great engineer, manager, and compassionate leader who always put his coworkers ahead of himself.   We grew up together at Cisco where he inspired and always pushed me to be better.  Ken felt there was nothing we couldn’t do together.  That was just what he did, see potential in others and challenge and motivate them to do more that they thought they could.  

I cherish the frequent lunches we had to get out and away from the intensity of the job.  We always thought we solved every technical problem, personnel issues, and even solved major world problems.  We laughed a lot and mostly laughed at ourselves.  

Ken was my employee, peer, and boss, but above all he was my friend !    I will miss you Ken and I know you are in heaven with your God, Jesus Christ.

I worked with and for Ken at Cisco RTP years ago.  I will always remember the great passion that he had for everything he was involved in.  My sincerest condolences to the family.  He will be missed.

Ken and I worked together in the early days of Cisco RTP!   Many fond memories... we were FB friends to keep in touch as our paths took us different directions.   Deepest sympathies to his family.   I believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and will see Ken again someday!

Kenny was a leader, even in high school. Always quite and soft spoken, he would still get his thoughts across.  A wonderful human, even as a teenager his faith in our Lord was always president.  Now, he's right there with him.  As time passes, we should not be afraid when our time comes. For our brother in Christ will be there wait for us.

I had not seen Ken since our eighth grade year at Holy Rosary in Miami but the news of his passing was nonetheless devastating. my memories of Ken and those years are cherished and it’s no wonder that so many beautiful things are being said on his behalf. Through mutual friends, I have always asked about him, knowing his life was fulfilling. May the peace of our Lord be with Ken and his family for all of eternity. God bless you Ken.

Another friend of Ken from Cisco, so saddened at the news. Ken was an ultimate professional and the coworker you always appreciated. Even though we were on separate coasts, Ken made the relationship as comfortable, close, and valued as if we were at adjoining desks. 

The pain we feel is testament to how much love we felt. RIP Sweet Ken. 

Ken was my such a good manager,  I and my all colleagues were so shocked when heard his passing and feel very sad, he will be deeply missed  by all of us!

Now, Ken finished his journey in this world and are rest in  our Lord Jesus Arm, We will reunion with him one day in God Eternal Kingdom Joyfully !

My deepest condolences to the Lambert family.  Ken was a great peer and boss crossing paths during our Cisco careers in the late 90's.  A great memory for me was when my daughter moved back to RTP from CA to work at Sensus, I reached out to Ken and he let me know he'd look out for her.  As father's of daughters, his assurance gave me great relief as I knew his dedication to family was awesome.  RIP

Our deepest sympathy.  Ken was a wonderful family friend.  We would tailgate football games at Cardinal Gibbons with our daughters, and shared the beauty of their musical talents over the years.  The world is a better place because of Ken.  Peace to the family.

Ken and I worked together on a major next generation software project at Cisco from 2006-2010. We sometimes disagreed on how to move forward against some of the difficult  technical challenges we faced, but I always respected Ken’s commitment and leadership .  He was a very good team leader and always put his engineers before his own career aspirations. My family extend our prayers and condolences to Ken’s family.
