Joseph Johann Zell

Joseph was born on February 18, 1930 in Germany to the late, Phillip Zell and Anna Thaler Pelny. Joseph enjoyed reading, country music, cooking, exercising, gardening and The Mets. He mostly loved taking care of others. The epitome of a gentleman, he put his family and tradition above all else. He was very proud of his military service and being a member of local 342. He loved spending time with his family and was very proud of them.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Grace McMeekin Zell; brother, Robert Zell; sister, Carole Sofronov.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Karen Rasmussen (Dave), Sharon Baumgarten, and Laura Litt (Marc); sons, John Zell (Debbi) and Charles Craig (Alice); nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11:30 AM Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 810 High House Road, Cary, NC 27513. Interment will follow the service at Wake Memorial Park.
