John was born May 6, 1952 to the late Hildreth Vane Carpenter and Grace Mae Cadle Carpenter. He was employed as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gaylan Carpenter.
John is survived by his wife, Bridgette Carpenter; son, Robbie Carpenter; daughters, Melissa Carpenter and Tiffany Vannoy; and sister, Melody Boswell (Bruce).
A Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends 10-11am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 1pm Friday, March 6, 2015 at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, WV.
