Jimmy was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on May 7, 1993. He was a high school graduate of Guatemala and attended Wake Technical Community College with hopes to transfer to NC State University School of Engineering. Jimmy was a member of King’s Park International Church.
Jimmy is survived by his parents, Ernesto Cerda and Flora Maria Mejia; brother, Jonatan Mejia; sister, Nelly Mejia; and grandparents, Jose Refugio Cerda and Ana Cerda, and Braulia Mejia.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502. Entombment will follow the service at Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Rd, Cary, NC 27519. The family will receive friends 12pm-2pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
