I am still trying to process the untimely loss of Jerry as he was such a wonderful friend and positive influencer in my life. I knew Jerry from Cary Church of God, and our family also intercepted him, Dena and the boys at Cary Christian School. Jerry taught me and many others how to live life well and love others well, and I am very proud of his legacy and will miss him very much!

I am a friend of Jerry from college! He was so kind and uplifting to me as a freshman cadet. I will never forget going to gillies for ice cream, such a treat and break from studies. His encouragement showed me how to be a Christian on the military.  He will always hold a special spot in my heart! Prayers for the family!

Jerry Snead was highly regarded by all, a stalwart of our Lord. He’s in good care with Dignity Memorial, the same that recently served my mother. It’s most uplifting to hear from all those who posted, whom I remember so well from my years at Va Tech. Behold, the time is near when we all rejoice as One in a better place.

I am touched and reminded of Jerry so much from the wonderful testimonies given through today. I was a high school classmate of Jerry’s while at Altavista High. We didn’t keep in regular contact but I did see him a few times since 1981. He had a gentle spirit and was my friend. It’s really good to hear how he matured and lived his life boldly for Christ. Thanks Jerry for proving to be a strong witness and disciple. Love you. Amen. 

Jerry was a great man and a person I looked up to. I remember the days Jerry and I would get together for prayer while working at Century Center as well as the time we spent together at Cary Church of God. He will be missed but we will see him again. I pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit for Dena and the entire Snead family.

    I'm am so saddened to hear of Jerry's passing.  He was a good man and I truly enjoyed working with him over the many years we spent at NCDOT.  I want to offer my condolences to you and your family.  In knowing Jerry, I'm sure that he is with his Lord and Savior- Jesus Christ in Heaven and celebrating all that Heaven has to offer. I remember when Jerry was considering becoming Youth Minister. Even though he stayed in engineering, he did minister for God in just the way he lived and treated people. 

So sorry Dena and family for your loss.   Jerry was such a good and faithful man.   I was so sure he was going to pull through this.   But the Lord had other plans.   

May the Lord now comfort you and uphold you with His strong arms.   And may goodness and lovingkindness follow your family.   And may the seeds of Jerry's faithfulness to the Lord take strong root in your boys hearts and lives.

Although our hearts are sad at the news of Jerry's passing, we rejoice in the fact that he has heard the Father say, "Well done".
We pray for the sweet comfort of the Holy Spirit to surround you all during the days ahead. 

Dear Dena and Family, please accept my deepest and most heartfelt condolences.  Although our hearts are heavy and already missing Jerry here, I have deep joy knowing he is truly with the Lord and all Jerry's many good works follow with him to the glory of God.  And yet I'm still sad and wish he were here with us.  Jerry was wonderful, the best college roommate a guy could have, and he was a great positive influence on me coming to Christ, at a time when I could have easily gone the wrong direction.  He was faithful, generous, fun, caring, kind, humble, and devoted to the Lord and you his family.  I loved him, and still do, like a real brother.  I feel honored to have had him stand beside me as my best man.  I will be holding you all in my prayers especially at this time.  Know that I care about you all and will look forward to the Grand Reunion when we can be with Jerry again in utter joy.  I love you all.

Jerry Snead was one of the first Christian men I met at the Century Center in 1994 through the NCDOT Christian Men's Breakfast.  Through many years and locations such as Shoney's on New Bern Avenue, Griffin's, Farmer's Market Restaurant, IHOP, and then eventually Pam's Farmhouse, Jerry was the constant that kept the fellowship and bible study going.  "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Matt. 18:20.  The presence of the Lord was with Jerry as he lived his daily life and was manifested in the kindness, generosity, faithfulness, and genuineness that many have testified of him.  I am truly blessed to have been in bible study with him for so many years and have benefitted from our discussions of faith, family, and work.  The way he loved his wife Dena and his sons Benjamin, Joshua, and Jonathan was also inspiring.  Jerry continues to inspire me to be a more faithful follower of Jesus and the ripples of his life will affect those that know him and beyond for years to come.  I will miss you Jerry.

Jerry had such a passion for teaching the next generation about God and His love for them. I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity to work with Jerry in the children's ministry at CCOG. Jerry had a wonderful sense of humor and when he spoke we listened. Praying for the Snead family in their time of loss.

Jerry played a huge role in God’s plan to lead me into a relationship with Him.  Dena and Jerry’s life during our college years helped me see just how far I was from truly walking with the Lord.  Jerry’s gentle example of love toward God, toward Dena and toward me as a friend affected the course of my entire life.  I am thankful to the Lord for Jerry’s life and look forward to joining him in a future heavenly reunion.

To Dena, especially, and Jerry's family:
I was shocked and very saddened to hear about Jerry.  He was a kind man, funny, full of laughter and happiness.  I only knew Jerry through work, but I was very glad to know him.  He was very knowledgeable about Hydraulics, but about the human spirit, too.  He will be missed.  Please know that you and your family will be in our prayers.
