Jean Keel Hart

Jean was born on June 13, 1940, in Hertford, NC, to the late Lester and Mable Keel. She enjoyed a career in cosmetology, and a Christmas shop in Banner Elk, NC, “Visions of Sugarplums”. Jean loved her family, had the most forgiving heart, accepted everyone as they were, loved flowers, gardening, was always laughing, and loved her wine! She was always a positive person.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Keel and sisters, Sandy Powers and Terry Birge.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lewis Sadler (Patti), René McDonald (Kevin), Denise Prevette (Ray), and Helon Womble (Tommy); her sisters, Jane Rittenhouse (known as Twinsie), Fran Roper, Pat Blackwell, Cathy Love, Suzanne Duenas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean will be laid to rest Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at New Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, New Hill, NC.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be donated to wounded warriors.
