James Christopher Lyons

James Christopher Lyons, 54, left us on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at his home in Cary, North Carolina after his valiant battle with cancer. Jim was born in Annapolis, Maryland and is predeceased by his parents, Louis “Lou” Thomas Lyons Sr. and Nancy Gocke Lyons. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra “Sandy” Botting Lyons, who he spent 25 beautiful years with; his children Michael and Matthew Lyons; brother Louis “LT” Thomas Lyons II, sisters Sheila Barchet Bisland and Beth Barchet Berry; and his nieces and nephews.

Jim was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, coach and friend. Jim was a beacon of unwavering positivity and perseverance, known for his quick wit and love for his family. He approached life with contagious optimism, making every moment brighter for those around him. As a dedicated lacrosse coach, he touched the lives of many with his passion and guidance. Jim not only taught the game but also instilled valuable life lessons in his players. His commitment to nurturing both skill and character made him a beloved figure in the lacrosse community. May his larger-than-life spirit and cherished memories live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:45 am on Thursday, January 25, at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Road, Apex, NC.
