Jim Porter, 66, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Born on December 6, 1948 in Huntington, WV; he was preceded in death by his parents: Willis and Anna Aldine Porter and by a brother: Wayne Porter.
Jim worked for 36 years as a Fork Lift Driver at Austin/Kellogg's Snacks and enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Rhonda Cecil Porter; sons: Thomas Porter, of Raleigh and Steven Porter, of Apex; siblings: Larry Porter and wife Vickie, of Ayden; Sandy Clary and husband Roger, of TN and Shirley Hartley and husband Gerald, of WV.; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends, including the Cecil Family.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 12 Noon at Bethel Baptist Church, with family to receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Apex.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missionaries at Bethel Baptist Church -1111 W Chatham St. – Cary, NC 27511.
